As a conceptual parallel to the social distancing demands of Covid-19, I installed a video in a window of a private house across from the gallery rather than inside the usual “public” gallery space. This window symbolizes how people have had to connect from afar and interact via a “glass screen” of monitors/cell phones. The video of myself hanging upside down represents how the world has also been turned on its head due to the pandemic. In addition, the idea of viewing art set outside while the viewer is inside also reverses the norm so I decided to title this work Run Home, as an inverse of Home Run by Gabriel Orozco installed outside of the gallery(public) space.
