Teddy, our beloved dog, became a new and comforting addition to my family when the Covid pandemic first started 3 years ago. Every time we see him, Teddy expresses so much happiness and excitement, acting as if he hasn’t seen us in forever, even if we had just seen each other only a few minutes prior. I wish to act the same way, expressing so much welcome and gratitude for every small or large greeting/reunion. I am learning so many things from this incredibly delicate animal.
We give him lots of pets, hugs, and crowd around him often because his fur is so soft and fine. My family and I have been collecting his fur each time we groom him. My daughter once made a ball from his hair, and now we continue to keep them as I feel it to be a symbol representing our love and kinship, or in other words, “skinship”. I am carefully collecting and recording our affectionate “skinship” in this container for the foreseeable future as a tribute to our love for Teddy
